Important Update from Our Bakery

To Our Valued Customers and Members,

I want to take a moment to acknowledge a challenging situation we are currently facing at the Quincy Bakery.

Recently, our beloved bread oven — which has served us faithfully for many years — began showing serious signs of wear. It started with slower baking times and a noticeable decline in the signature crisp, golden crust we all love. Soon after, the oven began leaking 400-degree water onto the floor, initially thought to be a broken steam line.

We called in a specialized technician from Anderson, CA, who discovered that the oven’s metal floor had rusted through, including the drain pan that collects hot water during the baking cycle. Due to the advanced age of the equipment, repair is no longer an option — the oven must be completely replaced.

Right now, we are doing our best to keep it running, but it’s no longer performing at the level our customers expect and deserve. The bakery, and the bread we produce, has always been a deep source of pride for us. That’s why we’re working tirelessly to secure funding for a new oven, including applying for a grant that may help us cover part of the cost.

Whether or not we receive the grant, we are committed to replacing the oven. We expect to know more about our financing options by mid-August and will update you as soon as we have a clearer timeline for replacement.

Please note that during the installation of the new oven, our bakery will be temporarily closed and bread will not be available. We understand how important our products are to you and appreciate your patience and continued support during this transition.

Thank you for your trust in us.

Warmly,
Marcie Wilde
