Round Up at the Register

This program has raised over $40,000 for local organizations since its start in 2019!

If you or anyone you know are affiliated with an organization that benefits our local community, we want to help! Recipients could earn $1000 or more. Applications are now open for the 2025 year. Click below to apply.

In alignment with our guiding principles, Feather River Food Co-op offers a commitment to the local community that has been ongoing for over 40 years. In an effort to expand the co-op’s community outreach, we offer a simple form of community giving that allows customers to “round up” their purchases to the nearest dollar. This ‘extra’ change is donated to a local program or organization each month.

Selection Criteria:

Priority will be given to organizations and programs that…

  • are based in or benefit the communities that the co-op serves (Portola and/or Quincy, or the greater Plumas County area).
  • promote sustainability and environmentalism (sustainable farming, school gardening programs, alternative transportation, etc.).
  • promote community wellbeing (recreation, health services, animal services, diversity, food security, etc.).
  • use the funding for specific projects and not for general operations costs.
  • are nonpartisan and do not advocate a particular religion or political affiliation.
  • are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or cooperative business.
