Lost Sierra Wine Co. was founded in January of 2024. Owners Chris and Christina Millard have called eastern Plumas County home since 2021. Drawing inspiration from the region, they, along with their two adult children, Aaron and Katherine, are dedicated to crafting wines that capture the beauty and character of the Lost Sierra.
With no available vineyard land in Plumas, Lost Sierra Wine Co. sources its grapes from Sonoma County’s renowned Russian River region where Chris, the winery’s winemaker, has worked with local growers for decades. Each of the vineyards are certified sustainable, with some being fully organic.
The winery produces five distinct wines: Switchback Rosé, a refreshing and vibrant option for any occasion; Trailhead Chardonnay, a crisp and elegant white wine; Altitude “Chillable” red wine, a versatile and easy-drinking red wine perfect for warmer days; Singletrack Pinot Noir, a nuanced and sophisticated red wine that pairs beautifully with a variety of dishes; and Elevation Red Blend, a bold and complex blend perfect for hearty meals or enjoying on its own.
Each bottle of Lost Sierra Wine tells a story, offering a taste of the untamed beauty of the region and the family’s connection to it.
The Millards selected their winery’s name as a tribute to the Sierra Nevada’s lesser-known northern region, where our co-op calls home and where the Millards have found adventure, inspiration, and a deep connection to the land. Chris and Christina firmly believe in supporting the communities they work and live in and are active supporters of many of the areas’ non-profits; Supporting Lost Sierra Wine Co. supports our community.
Lost Sierra Wine Co. products are available at BOTH our Portola and Quincy locations. Grab a bottle the next time you’re in!
