The FRFC Board officially seated Clare Churchill and Ian Schrammel as newly elected Board Directors at April 17th board meeting. Thank you to all members, both candidates and voting member-owners, who participated in the election, actively exercising one of the seven cooperative principles, “Democratic Member Control”. The new Directors will serve a three-year term, and replace Gia Martynn and Aubrey Pickerell’s board seats. Please join us in welcoming Clare and Ian aboard!
The Board of Directors is a seven-member body that serves a critical role in overseeing and guiding our Co-op, supervising the General Manager, ensuring financial stability, and supporting the Co-op’s commitment to the community. Directors attend board meetings, training, plan member-owner co-op events, and serve on a minimum of two committees during their term. The Board’s other Directors and new officers for 2023 are Scott Stirling, Board President, and Executive Committee Chair; Melissa Lopez, Vice President; Wayne Cartwright, Treasurer and Committee Chair for both Finance and Board Development; Dana Krinsky, Secretary, and Policy Committee Chair; and Leslie Wehrman, Board Director, and Membership Committee Chair.
As the Co-op grows as a business and seeks to support its members and communities in more ways, the Board is always looking for co-op members to get involved. There are three standing committees – Board Development, Membership, and Policy – that all welcome non-Board members who can share their skills to help FRFC meet its goals. The Finance Committee Charter now allows former legacy Board directors to be active, although non-voting, members of the Finance Committee, including access to sensitive information. So, if you are interested in becoming more involved with the Co-op, consider contacting a current Board Director about how you can help.
