Price and Tariff Updates – What You Need to Know

Dear Members and Shoppers,

We want to keep you informed about changes affecting product pricing in our store. Due to recent increases in tariffs and the rising costs of certain raw materials, we are starting to see price changes across several everyday items.

Here’s what we know so far:

  • Aluminum products (like foil and canned items such as soda, beer, and canned foods) are now subject to a 50% tariff.
  • Plastic bottles and packaging made with ingredients imported from China are seeing about a 10% increase in costs.
  • Sugar and cocoa, depending on the country of origin, have increased between 10–50%.
  • Coffee from various regions is now subject to at least a 10% tariff.
  • Feminine hygiene products, which are mostly imported, now carry a 10% or more tariff.
  • Recycled PET plastics (used in many food containers) have gone up by 12% in cost.

We know that any increase in prices is difficult, especially when household budgets are already tight. Our team is doing everything we can to minimize the impact. Where possible, we are absorbing some of the increases and phasing in price adjustments slowly, rather than raising everything at once.

We appreciate your understanding and continued support as we navigate these changes together. If you have questions or concerns, please reach out—we’re here to help.

Thank you,
Feather River Food Co-op
